James turned three! I cannot believe it....He is such a fun boy, yet challenging. We love him to pieces. He loves to play games and dress up is one of his favorites. He is generally happy and for height and weight is in the 80th percentile, He just recently gave up his nap time and now just has quite time with the occasional nap, much to my dismay. He is 99% potty trained and loves to take bubble baths he wears a 3T top and 2T bottoms almost 3T bottoms though and a size 7-8 toddler shoe. He is in love with anything that involves a ball particularly baseball we have batting practice almost daily in our front room and 8 of 10 times he can hit the ball when pitched which was his own personal goal to achieve this summer, thank goodness for soft baseballs so we can play inside.
James goes by Jimmy, Jim, Slim, Jimmers, or Hansom and he really loves just about any activity I offer, he is too smart for his own britches most of the time and is very creative, over Christmas break he wanted to go ice skating so he made his own rink out of shaving cream and body wash on the bathroom floor using toilet paper as ice skates, he held onto the tub and the toilet and whipped his legs back and forth as fast as he could to get a good lather on the shaving cream and make it nice and slick, what a hoot he is. Dad was not quite sure what to think of the production.
Grandpa Hoggan is one of James Favorite people, he loves loves loves him, it was only recently that we were able to convince him when praying to pray for our Grandma's too, not just our grandpa's. James loves to build things and finds even more joy in destroying things
He is a great helper around the house and is always helping me cook and clean, he particularly loves his swiffer that is his size, I think the two of them would clean all day if I would let them, they have so much fun with it.
James is usually the life of the party, he is adventurous and skilled and has crazy strength so he naturally does well with group activities, although he will every now and then shy out and get really nervous which is so weird to watch from his normal behaviors. He is still working on sharing, and not getting his way he is just now three but it is coming along. His attention is really pretty good. He does music and gymnastics and is part of a coop preschool group.
This is James on his big day, his favorite breakfast chocolate chip pancakes with whopped topping next to it. Jim is a strange eater he has an aversion to the color orange and won't eat anything that color for the most part, even like recces pieces where they all taste the same but have a different shell color, he won't eat the orange ones. He is my veggie eater and won't for the most part touch fruits, he doesn't really like much of anything sweet with the exception of m&m's, recces pieces, kisses, tiny coconuts (aka whoppers) and hot chocolate, sometimes chocolate milk. He will always ask for treats but he never actually eats them. He is a meat man through and through. He hates having his finger nails clipped, and if you were to ask him right now what he wants to be when he grows up he would tell you a pirate or a baseball player.
For Jim's family party we went bowling, he loved spending the afternoon bowling and playing with his sister and cousins, we had been bowling a lot at home, but now he think we should go to the alley all the time, he ask regularly to go. He really didn't do to bad considering he is three. He is really very creative and loves to tell story's although we often get cut off by the chapter ending and we have to wait until the next time for another chapter. His favorite color is blue, his favorite show is Jake and the never land pirates and Word World, his favorite music is rascal flats signing life is a highway or Acapella groups he can't get enough of them. He is boy through and through loving dirt, jumping, running, dancing, singing, cars, trucks and building. His favorite time of the day is when Doug comes home and his favorite song is Teach me to walk in the light. His favorite book is any out of the magic tree house series. He really is so fun and always coming up with just the craziest stuff, we were meeting with the Bishop and the Bishop noted he had just gotten some pull ups using funds that were donated for that purpose, James had him clarify, asking "Were the pull ups for you?" He can't wait to be out of Nursery. He says his best friends are Addy and his friend Brody ( who is 6 now) We are so thankful for such a wonderful boy to call our son and all the joy he brings to our family. We would be lost without him. We love you James!
