Diversity

Our kids love musicals, Addy's favorite is still the Sound of Music and Jimmy's is Mary Poppins, but over the past year or so we have been working on diversifying and introducing new things still musical in nature. Addy has really liked seven brides for seven Brothers and Annie, and both liked the Wizard of Oz, and High school Musical, Oklahoma was okay, and White Christmas was slept through, but our latest introduction was Charlie and The Chocolate Factory... I cannot believe how much Addy loved it, I debated which version to show for family fun night, but finally decided on the older version with Gene Wilder, it was quite the success, I love seeing them learn to love new things.
We also took Addy to the theater, to see Lord of the Dance, it was so Good and watching her love every minute of it made my day. We did a Mommy, Daddy and Addy date night, not that Jimmy wouldn't have liked to go, but I was worried about how late it would be so he hung out with Grandpa and Grandma and got to bed at a decent hour while the rest of us went to dinner and a show. It seriously was amazing and hearing Addy tell the story from her perspective just cracks Doug and I up. We do love a good show, and I Love that the kids love that kind of stuff as well. What is next, What is next? Hard to say....
