FHE

Addy taught her first family home evening last night. I don't have any pictures, but I wanted to remember it so I am getting it blogged now before I forget. The past couple of Weeks Addy has been asking when it would be her turn to do family home evening, I had done an activity for Activity Days and the girls got to put together a FHE both Addy and James felt that was something they could also do, so I did double duty on my activity for the AD girls and went through the parts of family home evening with the kids and what Doug and I expect when they are in charge.  Then yesterday Addy and I went through and made a plan for her lesson I used the prompts from My lesson to help her put her lesson together we went through each step and she picked and planned what was going to happen. IT WAS SO ADORABLE I should have video taped it, BE STILL MY HEART!!! She decided to have the lesson on Family, the opening song was Families can be together forever sung to her  playing the guitar ( using the word playing rather loosely and open to interpretation) Then we had a scripture she told us about heaven and our bodies and spirits not always being together. Then the 3rd article of faith which James and her both said by memory (so proud of them for that), On to the lesson where everyone got to say 1 thing they loved about each member of our family, and we had a little drawing activity where we were instructed to draw families, sunshine, fish or whatever made us think of family? LOL We had a closing song this time Teach me to walk in the light accompanied on the guitar by Addy and James ( imagine Aerosmith showing up to family home evening, tongue hanging out full arm strokes on the guitar and yes jumping while playing ) I don't know that I will ever be able to go back to the regular version. Closing prayer then onto the main event booby trap hide and go seek a rendition of the beloved glow stick hide and seek, with lots of Addy rules we had to cut her off the rules were getting a little heavy. But we all love a good game of hide and seek Complete with cookies and milk for treat. She did such a good job, and when she was done said, when will I be scheduled to teach again? Me"I'm not sure" Her "well lets look at the calendar" that girl is golden on the commitment pattern.
