The storm

We had this crazy storm come through here sat night, we were blessed no water in our home, a number of our ward members were not so lucky, we did however have two rivers that were going by our house, there was a break point right at the top corner of our lot that caused the river to split and diverge other wise the rivers would have been one and going straight through our home, in the top picture you can see the width of the river where the clean grass is, it was 6-7 inches deep and the bottom you can see it washed all of our rocks out of our play area and redistributed them to the garden, along with the park from the city park where the river diverged.

These were my beautiful flowers at the front of the house, we will just be doing fall clean up early this year.
and here is where the garden was, is is filled in with rocks, and bark our toy chest and an array of other debris, if you look at the fence you can see how high the water go before breaking, it is quite the mess. Below you can see all the mud and muck on our drive way, at one point in time we had about 6 inches of water standing all over the driveway before the storm broke and the water could find other places to go. We ended up with mailboxes, gutters, lots of bark and rocks as well as all kinds of garbage in our yard, today I spent an hour and a half cleaning in the front yard filled two large garbage cans and it doesn't even look like we have started cleaning, Doug spent three hours yesterday cleaning the driveway to cut down on the dirt traffic coming in, and then prepped for another storm which thankfully we did not get, They did however cancel our ward meeting yesterday because everyone thought we were getting another crazy storm like the first.
Luckily for us on sat I spent a few hours harvesting everything I could out of the garden all that was ready to go and our pumpkins survived the storm so we didn't lose much just the plants themselves, On sat my mom and I made 19 jars of salsa, here is my share, aren't they lovely looking. Back to cleaning I go.
